VS2015 insanely cannot attach to a Kernel debugging target machine, weird error message
I'm experiencing the following problem on my debugger machine, a Windows 8.1 x64 PC(192.168.8.1), with Visual Studio 2015 Update 3 installed. When I click Attach button. It freezes for 5~10 seconds then pops out two error dialog boxes simultaneously. Unable to attach to the process. Operation not supported. Unknown error: 0x80004005 Windows Debugging Extension for Visual Studio Failure to create process instance prevents debugging On VS2015 side, my setting for the target machine is as follows: BUT, I believe my target machine(debuggee) is configured CORRECTLY, because, from the very VS2015 machine, I can connect to the debuggee with WinDBG. windbg -k net:port=55033,key=aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd Connected in just one second. BTW, on a fresh Windows 10 debugger machine, installing VS2015 U3 and doing the some configuration gives me successful result. Then, what's going wrong with Visual Studio 2015 on my Win81 machine? Missing some OS patches?
