Qsub job not running - possible issue in submission script

I am having issues getting a paralellised job to run on an SGE cluster. It looks to me like the job isn't actually running, though it claims to run for about forty minutes.
This is my submission script:
#!/bin/bash
#PBS -V
#PBS -l select=1:ncpus=20:mpiprocs=20,walltime=02:00:00
#PBS -o /place/for/.o
#PBS -e /place/for/.e
#PBS -q smp
#PBS -m ae
#PBS -M my#email.com
#PBS -P Project
#PBS -I
#PBS -N Job
$DIR=/directory/of/executable
export PATH=$PATH:/directory/of/executable
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/useful/libraries
module load gcc/5.1.0
module load chpc/openmpi/1.10.2/gcc-5.1.0
mpirun -np 20 $DIR/executable args < input-file > output-file
I compiled "executable" on the machine I'm working on, so I know I have all the libraries I need. When I run it, I get emailed this:
PBS Job Id: 241631.sched01
Job Name: Job
Execution terminated
Exit_status=0
resources_used.cpupercent=0
resources_used.cput=00:00:00
resources_used.mem=6684kb
resources_used.ncpus=20
resources_used.vmem=324148kb
resources_used.walltime=00:41:19
I also get no written output (which doesn't surprise me, since it looks like nothing's getting done).
I am probably missing something basic, but am really not sure how to interpret this, or what I can do to actually get "executable" to give me some output! Help would be immensely appreciated!
